MSAV variable speed fan motor

Does anyone have experience modeling multi-stage air volume roof top
units such as the Lennox Energence? Do I handle that as a VAV or stick
with constant volume and try and model it with schedules? And, yes, I'm
an architect trying to do an engineer's job, so be gentle with me. I've
already learned so much from reading all of your posts over the last few
months.

Hi Mary,

Actually this is pretty easy. You can select packaged VAV as your system and
then when you are in the detailed edit mode go to your HVAC tab, then to the
Air-Side HVAC System Parameters tab, then to the cooling tab, and lastly to
the Stages tab at the far right. That should work for you. If you have a ME
that you are working with a few questions to her would help as to which
option to choose. A good vendor can help with this, too.

Let us know if ya need any more help.

Regards,
Carol

Thanks, Fred. Just as good if PVVT. Actually I was going to say PVVT but
thought Mary said VAV and the tab's there for it, too. I would use it with
advice from an engineer or really knowledgeable HVAC guy. Yeah, they are out
there.

Prolific poster indeed! I offer my services to people for real money, too! I
don't want to stand by a freeway with a will work for food sign. None of us
does.

Good to hear from you. Apologies in advance for putting it back on line.

Personal regards,
Carol

You all rock! That gets me pointed in the right direction. I do have a
ME that I can ask a few questions, but I don't have one on this job,
believe it or not. And, my ME has no energy modeling experience. Plus,
I believe that we architects need to get our feet wet with this stuff so
we know what's going on around us.
