Hi All
Hope your summers are going well.
I am writing find out if you have seen/done energy models for buildings using modular air source heat recovery heat pump chillers. That is a heat pump that provides CHW and HW and uses air as the sink or source when the loads are not balanced. This query is based on a specific technology that I believe is currently only manufactured by MultiStack, It is a modular unit called ARA.
Given the current drive for electrification we are beginning to see multiple projects considering variations of designs for simultaneous heating and cooling where cooing is not necessarily the driving load, and the air source HP can now operate down to 0?F OAT.
The way I understand it is that eQuest defined equipment for this "Electric Heat Recovery Chillers" with air cooled condensers only uses air to reject heat not as a source. So, when heating mode is the load driver it can only come from a boiler.
If you have seen models of this equipment, I am hoping that you provide me with insight as how it was done.
Thank you
