Minimum Efficiency of VTAC System

Hello,

We have 1 ton single package vertical heat pump in each apartment of a
multi-family building. For minimum efficiency as per ASHRAE 90.1-2007.
should these systems be compared with Table 6.8.1D *PTHP* system or *SPVHP*?

Please let me know.

Thanks,

Sunayana

The answer depends on your goal:

If you are looking for mandatory efficiency requirements for code
compliance, you would compare to the SPVHP numbers.

For Energy Cost Budget method or Appendix G analysis, you would use the
PTHP as your baseline system type, so you would use PTHP numbers as your
baseline efficiency.
Hope that helps! Cheers,
Elizabeth
