The Department of Architecture and Built Environment of the School of Art, Design and Architecture at University of Plymouth wishes to appoint an outstanding and inspirational academic in Built Environment to complement and build on its existing research and teaching strengths.
You will be expected to make a significant contribution to the teaching of the recently started undergraduate course in Architectural Engineering and support the postgraduate course in High Performance Building. Due to the joint nature of the undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the Department, you will also be expected to contribute to the teaching across disciplines. We are therefore looking for someone with a dedication to the delivery of high quality teaching in areas such as building energy, building operation, and low energy building design. Other administration duties to support the management of the course would be expected.
You will have a doctorate degree and a scholarly reputation, demonstrated by a good record of high quality journal publications in the field. You will be expected to contribute to the Department's next Research Excellence Framework (REF) submission. Previous experience in winning external funding in the built environment field and a track record working with industry through research or other partnerships will be highly valued. We would generally expect applicants for Lecturer level to have post-doctoral experience.
