California Office and Project Manager, San Francisco Office
Are you ready to work where you can have real IMPACT? Ambient Energy is seeking an Office and Project Manager experienced in creating long-term and successful client partnerships and to improve Ambient Energy's local presence in California from our office located in the Bay Area. This Manager will procure and manage energy modeling, commissioning, LEED, and sustainability projects, and develop client relationships. Along with a strong environmental and energy engineering background, the successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to manage, inspire and motivate staff. This job will entail managing projects, business development, establishing and maintaining client relations, securing work, and managing a team which may include building performance analysts, sustainable design specialists, and commissioning agents. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, able to work independently and manage a team of three to ten persons in the San Francisco office. The Manager shall report to the President of Ambient Energy in Denver.
Minimum Requirements

* Minimum of 10-12 years of professional experience working on building projects, at least 5 of which were for sustainable or energy efficient building projects.

* Minimum of 4 years of project management experience.

* Experience working on at least 3 LEED projects from start to finish.

* Strong knowledge and comfort level with building mechanical and electrical systems.

* Skills in client account management and proposal writing.

* Experience hiring, managing, training, and mentoring staff.

* Experience working with design teams, owners, architects, and contractors.

* Excellent technical review, editing, and presentation skills.

* Bachelors degree required, Engineering focus preferred, Masters Degree preferred.

* PE registration in California, Certified Energy Manager, and/or LEED-AP preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage sustainable design, commissioning and building performance services.

* Manage projects and staff on projects in project management software program.

* Facilitate and lead design and charrettes.

* Inspire and foster innovation and leadership in high performance design.

* Lead projects from start to finish within in budget, on schedule and with high quality.

* Respond to request for qualifications and requests for proposals (with assistance from marketing staff).

* Attend marketing, pre-bid meetings, networking events, conferences, professional organizations, and pursue speaking engagements.

* Develop and manage clients and professional relationships and be highly responsive.

* Work closely and communicate regularly with Ambient Energy's Denver office.

* Learn the Ambient Energy way of doing business and managing projects.
