*Environmental Designer Position*
Atelier Ten?s San Francisco office is seeking an experienced environmental
designer to
join its staff. This person will work on a range of building types from
residences to
institutional work to large commercial buildings. He or she will complete
technical
analysis and qualitative sustainable design reviews for a wide range of
environmental
issues (listed below). In addition, he or she will function as a project
manager, setting the
direction for assigned projects to ensure high-quality analysis and
deliverables. Qualified
applicants will have:
? At least 2 years of experience as a sustainability consultant,
including familiarity
with the environmental issues and analysis for climate, massing, shading
optimization, high performance building envelopes, daylight analysis,
conditioning &
energy systems, renewable energy, water systems, sustainable landscape
design,
building materials, lighting systems, alternative transportation, carbon
footprinting,
and sustainable design for master plans.
? At least 1 year of project management experience, including:
framing and execution
of analysis; execution of project deliverables; experience with client
meetings; and
directing technical staff working under the project manager. Candidates must
be
familiar with typical building design processes, phasing, deliverables, and
consultant
roles.
? Excellent analytical skills, including quantitative analysis, and
the ability to solve
problems creatively.
? Excellent written communication skills including clear,
informative technical reports;
email; and presentation material.
? Excellent intrapersonal skills including presentations and
technical conversations
with architects, engineers, and building owners. Candidates must work well
collaboratively.
? Significant experience with the LEED certification process
including credit
calculations and documentation.
? Basic graphic skills including sketching, formatting deliverables,
and familiarity with
computer graphics programs (listed below).
? Proficiency in the following software: Ecotect & WeatherTool,
Radiance, Excel,
PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Illustrator, Photoshop.
? Familiarity with the following software: DaySim, eQuest,
EnergyPlus, CorelDraw,
InDesign.
