The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), a nonprofit based in Washington, D.C., seeks a new team member to join the department responsible for the technical development and programmatic support of the LEED green building rating systems
This position is located in Washington, D.C.
Specific responsibilities include:
? Regularly interact with staff, GBCI, and LEED users, including volunteer professionals, to gather and synthesize feedback and expert knowledge regarding ratings system language and related content (reference guides, and marketing, advocacy, and educational products).
? Create agenda, facilitate regular conference calls and in-person meetings, communicate goals of LEED department, and build consensus around technical issues.
? Occasional research in support of technical development goals.
? Frequent public speaking and production of technical content for presentations.
? Respond to occasional media inquiries related to technical content of LEED.
Experience requirements
? Bachelor?s degree required.
? Ability to obtain LEED Accredited Professional credential within 9 months of hire.
? Two or more years of work experience in relevant field.
? Basic understanding of two or more of the following areas: HVAC design, building energy modeling, energy efficiency, renewable energy, building commissioning, or carbon accounting.
? Basic understanding of building design and construction process and/or building operations.
? Strong written communication skills; ability to distill complex technical information into succinct, clear language.
