Gas Misc. Equip. Load

Hi all,

I am getting a Miscellaneous Equipment gas load on a model that I'm working on. Does anyone know where in the inputs this type of energy would be generated? Misc. Equip. is usually found in the "Equipment" section of the Internal Loads, but all of my Equipment is assigned to my Electric Meter. Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Kristy,

Equipment load is not only assigned on internal load. It can be assign on meters also. You can just check your gas meter. I think there would be some misc. load.

I hope it helps.

Thanks

Hi Kristy:
?
Without the .INP and .PD2 file, it could be a few things. I don't know if you
are still in the Wizard or not.
?
It could be a cooking or laundry equipment load.
?
But if you are in the Detailed Edit mode, you can generate a Building level gas
load undet the Utilities and Economics?tab on top, then to the tree on the left
to the FM1 Fuel meter.

Hi all,

Thanks for the input. To answer a few questions... I am in Detail Edit Mode. I have already checked to see if any loads have been applied to the Fuel Meter in error and they have not.

It could be kitchen or laundry equipment. Once I'm in Detail Edit Mode, can anyone tell me where I can check for these loads?

Kristy and others:

To address this query more generally, check out the "Modeling Procedures
Quick Reference Guide" PDF which you can reference under the help menu
in eQuest (it came with your eQuest installation). Page 155 onwards
breaks down each reported end-use category, examples of what's included
in each, and where in equest you might start looking to review those
inputs. I find these pages make a fairly handy reference to tape to
one's cubicle wall...

I'd attach but the file is bit large =).

Check to see if you have any auxiliary fuel input on your systems. That will show up under miscellaneous load.

Hi all,

Just to follow-up on my question earlier... It turned out to be a process load on the Hot Water secondary loop. When you create a secondary loop it wants you to add a process load. In fact, I keep getting an error when I try to make the Process load on the loop zero. I didn't realize this process load would end up in the Misc. Equip. category, but I suppose this makes sense. Thanks to everyone for the feedback!

I followed a little this thread. My recommendation is to check if you set any process load on your hotwater loop or stream loop.
