Regarding multiple floors in a building

Hello Everyone,

I am new to eQuest. I am modelling a building having 5 above grade floors
and 1 below grade or basement. I made floors with no exterior exposure
roofs for basement and 4 floors (G +3). The roof of upper most floor is
made by layer by layer construction. I have given the floor to floor height
and floor to ceil height.

*My problem is that there are no plenum zones in all floor as well as it is
not showing any interior roof for all the floors except top floor. *

Can anyone help me to find out what I am doing wrong?

Regards,

Mayank

On the footprint shape screen of the wizard (screen 2 of the DD shell wiz), if your floor-to-ceiling height is more than a foot lower than your floor-to-floor height, eQUEST will create a plenum space. Whether it creates a single plenum for the floorplate or a plenum per zone depends on whether you HVAC system is ducted or plenum return.

I suspect you may be looking at the 3d view where ceiling partitions are turned off by default but they will still be shown on the component tree.

Also: One man's floor is another man's plenum ceiling ;)...

Check out the properties of any middle/top shell floor construction, and I think you'll find the wizards have defined the thermal link to the plenum there.
