Do I need to uninstall the previous version of eQuest and then install the
new one?

No, you do not need to uninstall the previous version to install the new one.

The Introductory Tutorial located here addresses this, please see section: Installing eQUEST on pp 4 of 145 (pp 10 of the pdf). It also provides guidance regarding the installation in different Windows operating systems (Vista and XP).

Kudos to Scott Criswell and the team who helped developed the new version !!
