POSITION: Designer/Energy Analyst or Senior Designer/Energy Analyst
LOCATION: San Francisco, CA and New York City, NY
START DATE: Fall 2017 (San Francisco)/ Immediate (NYC)
Atelier Ten San Francisco and New York are looking to recruit a full-time Designer or Senior Designer with a specialty in Energy Analysis to support projects on technical deliverables, consult on projects, and potentially train staff, based on experience and capability. The Designer position will be a member of an interdisciplinary environmental design consulting group and is active in the company's Energy Analysis practice.
The successful candidate will work closely with Atelier Ten's Energy Analysis practice leader and project managers to provide energy and thermal comfort analysis on building and planning projects; collaborate closely with architects and design team members to make project energy improvement recommendations; assist colleagues with energy analysis-related work which also includes carbon emissions calculations, annual cost analysis and LCCA; develop and maintain analysis methods and standards; and train staff in aspects of energy analysis. The candidate will work on all types of projects within the built environment ranging from institutional to commercial to residential building projects as well as large scale masterplans. Some incentive modeling/ technical assistance will be a service provided as part of this position. The candidate will also work closely with Atelier Ten's integrated design groups to support the full range of our services, which include environmental design consulting, daylight and fa?ade analysis, lighting design and LEED program management.

Qualified candidates ideally possess:
* Bachelor's or higher degree in a field related to building science, engineering or architecture with an application or work experience in HVAC design
* 0-3 years (Designer) or 4+ years (Senior Designer) professional work experience in energy analysis with any of the following platforms: EnergyPlus, IES-VE, and/or eQuest, and have exposure to modeling to ASHRAE Standard 90.1, Standard 55 and 62.1 in various design stages
* Proficiency in written and spoken English, and good verbal, inter-personal and writing skills
Preference will be given to candidates who are experienced commercial building energy analysts, who are experienced with other energy or environmental performance analysis tools, and who hold credentials in this field (BEMP, BEAP, CEM, PE, LEED AP BD+C).

POSITION: Design Staff
LOCATION: San Francisco, CA
START DATE: Fall 2017
Atelier Ten San Francisco is looking to recruit a full-time Design Staff person. We seek someone who can think beyond their own discipline, and is willing to contribute to collaborative problem solving in a multi-disciplinary environment. We encourage the design of highly innovative and sustainable solutions that incorporate a mix of technologies.
The ideal candidate will be able to support project managers on technical deliverables and in coordinating with the client, architect, and other members of the design team as needed. The Design Staff person will work with interdisciplinary consulting teams on research, analysis, and technical writing on topics including daylighting, energy and water use, sustainable materials, and more on a wide variety of project types. Design Staff also support teams with LEED program administration. This person may manage aspects of individual projects including responsibility for selected deliverables.

? 0-4 years' professional experience
? Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign), and Rhino
? In addition, skills in software such as "R," Grasshopper, Radiance, Revit, eQuest, EnergyPlus, IES, D3, or data visualization would be desirable
? Demonstrated skills in computer and hand drafting, and sketching proficiency in written and spoken English, and good verbal, inter-personal and writing skills
? Experience with LEED or sustainable design is a plus
