BEMP certification

1 post / 0 new

Hi,

I am looking to sit for the BEMP exam.

I have four years of experience in preparing energy compliance models for the UK regulations and I have a solid understanding of daylight and artificial lighting modelling and design. In addition, I have carried out numerous overheating studies with thermal modelling and have a fair bit of experience in CFD modelling. Lastly, I have also practiced in the design and specification of low energy mechanical services.

However, in terms of energy modelling for EAc1, I have only worked for one large project. This project did involve the set up of several detailed HVAC systems which is an area that ASHRAE requires more detailed simulations compared to UK standards.

Do you think it would be sensible to prepare and sit for the BEMP exam or should I wait to work on additional ASHRAE modelling related projects?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

All the best
