Has anyone downloaded the new version and found any benefit?

Kristin,

Thanks for the heads up, hadn't checked the DOE2 site for updates in a
while.

Looks like EXPANDED HOURLY REPORTS & POLYGON SHADING SURFACES are the only
new features since the previous version. Haven't run it yet, so I can't
speak to any changes made to the DOE2.2 calc engine versus the interface.

Anyone from the eQuest development team have any comments on the new
version?

Also, an aside to the dev team - it would be appreciated if y'all could
announce new versions on the equest-users list when they're available for
download.

All I know is that I tried to run a v3.64 project to compare energy
usage, and got this error. Anyone had luck using 3.65 on 3.64 projects?

At the ASHRAE energy modeling conference last year, they indicated that
the new version of eQuest was to have support for VRV HVAC systems, but
it doesn't look like that is an option.

The 129 page document that you attached has, in some detail, what the development team considers to be the new features and revisions. It also mentioned "eQ_WthProc can convert EnergyPlus (epw) files into eQUEST/DOE-2 (bin) files".

I am sure where it just came out, that we all will know much more about it in the next month or so.

One of the key features that I heard about is a drastic increase to the
upper limit of global parameters and other components allowed in a
single model. This is especially helpful when modeling a campus, and
importing multiple buildings into one model with a central plant.

All,

Can anyone speak to the issue of whether or not there were any
updates/enhancements to eQuest itself, and not just the DOE2 algorithms?

Thanks,

They improved the graphics a bit and updated the refrigeration version to 3.65. I haven't played with it too much though so those are the only things I've noticed.

I can confirm that the "spreadsheet refresh error" with the following text
"Selection list exceeds maximum length of 65,500 characters (xxxxx
required). Notify program support representative" is solved, at least for
our model.

I am just doing a high-rise residential building which has two 35 floors
two, and a 7 floors tower without much of typical floors can be used and
with very detail zoning.

With this new 3.65 version, I can now rename the zone in wizard mode before
switch into detail mode. Also, the weird "invalid argument" error doe not
happen anymore in this model.

Also, it is able to re-size the "Zone locations" window in Air-Side HVAC,
as attached figure. So that you are able to see some small zones, which is
quite handy!

These updates are significant to us! Thanks the eQuest development team!
