Fan placement

Dear All,

I m changing my fan placement from draw through to blow through and when I see Output report SVA I found that system cooling capacity is increasing in draw through placement But actually cooling capacity much increase in blow through as fan heat will add up in cooling cool load.

Can anyone explain this . Also want to know if the system cooling capacity mentioned in SV-A report in Kbtu/hr is the load or capacity of cooling coil?

Any response shall be highly appreciable

Warm Regards

Dear Sambhav,

I am post-scripting the snapshot of the eQUEST help.

You are getting the cooling capacity in Kbtu/h to be more in draw through
fan.
As mentioned above the draw through fans are placed after the cooling coils
and hence it's heating is not included in the cooling coil's cooling job.
I mean the cooling coil is not able to take away the heating of the fan in
draw through placement.
In blow through the fan's heating can be removed by the cooling coil.

As mentioned the draw through fans adds heat to the down stream air, hence
increasing the zone's load.

The added heat of the fan results in increasing the cooling load of the
room or zone.

I believe the cooling capacity in the SV-A report is the cooling load in
the zone. Also the system sizing is as per the cooling load of the zone so
i believe that the zone report in SV-A is the cooling load of the zone.
The cooling capacity is the cooling coil's cooling capacity and
the ability to do the cooling. Also if input it will over run the cooling
capacity of the of the zone.
Hope this may help.

Thanks,
