To Whom It May Concern,
I am currently finalizing my first energy model which depicts an existing building. I was curious if anyone familiar with modeling existing buildings can tell me how accurate energy models can be made against an existing facility's meter readings? I am within 0.1-15% of my modeled facility's meter readings.
Thanks!
Joe
It's within reason to calibrate an energy-model to within 5%. However, 10% is probably the best you can do consistently.
People tend to leave lights on, override temperatures settings, override control settings, and on top of that, the weather file can fluctuate by 10% from any given year.
