Tenure-Track Positions in Architecture and Urban Design
The Program in Architecture and Urban Design at the Technion ? Israel Institute of Technology, invites applications for tenure-track positions open to junior as well as senior academics. Appointments may start as early as October 1, 2012. Salary and compensation are compatible with Israeli university standards.
We are especially interested in candidates specializing in:
- Building Technology, including Structures, Material and Fabrication
- Environmental Sustainability and Green Architecture
- Digital Design and Fabrication Methods
- History and Theory of Architecture
- Urban Design
- Architectural and Urban Conservation
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a terminal degree in their field of specialization. They have to demonstrate exemplary scholarship and teaching record in their field, compatible with their current rank. Preference will be given to applicants who hold a professional degree in architecture. Applicants who hold a Ph.D. from a leading university within or outside of Israel will have an advantage.
Successful candidates will be expected to teach graduate and undergraduate level courses, including design studios, supervise Master?s theses and Ph.D. dissertations, conduct cutting-edge research, participate in faculty and Technion activities and contribute to an effective and stimulating environment for learning and research. Rank will be determined in accordance with the candidate's record. Prior knowledge of Hebrew is not required, as teaching may be conducted in English.
