night shading

Any advice on creating night shading? The specification calls for
increasing the R value of the window from 2.5 to 7.7 for night blinds.
I created a conductance schedule with fraction values. My intention is
to increase the window R value by 100% to make it as close as possible
to 7.7 (2.5 to 5) and the max the fraction schedule allows. I have not
used this before.

Thanks

Not sure if this will fill your requirements.

Look up CONDUCT-TMIN-SCH in the DOE-2.2 manuals. It appears you can
switch U-values on windows, but by outside air temp, not time.

But check this.

If you look under windows, and click the "blinds drapes switching" tab, you
can change window type based on outside temp or daylight level or solar
incidence, etc. Then you can change glass types. The catch is that the
glass type has to be a glass type code, not simplified data. I have used
the switching capability for glass types that come loaded in the equest
library. You should be able to create this data using Window5.
