Kirksey Architecture is seeking candidates to join our Building Physics Team. You will be part of a dynamic team that integrates high-performance architecture with building physics. The team applies knowledge of computational fluid dynamics, optics, thermodynamics, structures, and energy systems to assess building performance. The Building Physics Team works closely with architectural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural designers, and commissioning agents.
Objective
The role of the Building Physics Consultant is to provide solutions to building-physics problems across project types and scopes, ranging from campus masterplans to building-component details.
Qualifications
An applicant should have one of the following backgrounds/qualifications to apply:
Master of Science with peer-reviewed research experience in building science or related field.
PhD in building science or related field.
Any of the following accreditations: ASHRAE BEMP, ASHRAE BEAP, ASHRAE BCxP, AEE CEM, AEE CEA, AEE CBCP, AEE CMVP.
High degree of professional expertise in any of the skills outlined below (demonstrable with more than three years of work experience).
Skills
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with skills or experiences (demonstrable through projects or course work) in any of the following areas:
Application of any of the following tools: Design Builder, Equest, Open Studio, Trane Trace or IES VE.
Application of the following standards: ASHRAE 90.1, ASHRAE 62.1, ASHRAE 55.
