Dear Madam/Sir,
I am writing to express my strong interest in working in your team.
Evidence of my quantitative and analytical skills is provided by both my
undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. My extensive educational background
in physics through a 4-year course, combined with a postgraduate course in
Building Energy and Environmental Performance Modelling (MSc), has been
excellent preparation.
As a physicist I have effectively specialised in combining strong technical and
problem-solving capabilities related to a wide area of mathematics, physics,
chemistry as well as numerous practical environmentally based problems.
Furthermore, by participating in the MSc course of the Welsh School of
Architecture, I have managed to gain valuable knowledge in using a series of
state-of-the-art computer based software, such as Energy Plus and Ecotect, or
CFD platforms in order to model, analyze, predict and give advanced solutions to
energy related, environmental or design problems. Moreover, I have deepened my
skills in the building physics area and have become flexible to work individually
or within a team and able to creatively communicate with numerous professional
architects, civil engineers and designers on the basis of a highly practical and
interdisciplinary MSc course.
Throughout my job search and conversations with professors at the Cardiff
University, I have come to respect the professionalism that characterises your
firm and its employees. I am confident that your team’s values and objectives
would highly complement my own strengths and enthusiasm. I strongly believe
in the positive contributions I would offer as a member of your team. Given the
above and apart from the technical and practical skills that are included in detail
in my CV, it is worthwhile to emphasise on my organising capabilities, my
enhanced sense of responsibility, adaptability and goal orientation. I am always
eager to broaden my horizons as well as to advance my knowledge.
My CV is attached to the e-mail I send you and will give you a deeper insight of
my potentialities. I welcome the opportunity of an interview and look forward to
hearing from you. Thank you for your consideration.
Yours sincerely,
Theodoros Charitidis
