Cover Letter Santiago Rodriguez LEED AP BD+C Director of Energy Deparment @ REVITALIZA CONSULTORES ™ My professional experience started 7 years ago when doing my master thesis in ECOFYS (www.ecofys.com), a Dutch consultancy company on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency. After finishing my thesis project I was hired in the same company where I worked in the Energy in the Built Environment department, performing energy simulations using Energy Plus and Desing Builder for several projects. After two years, in 2009, I came back to Mexico and founded the company Ilumina Sol, a consultancy company focusing on Renewable Energy Projects and Energy Efficiency studies, where I performed several studies for rural renewable energy projects. In 2011 I made a 3 month work at the “Centro de Investigaciones en Energía” (CIE-UNAM) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), as part of a project to study the thermal properties of several building assemblies using Energy Plus as the main simulation tool. I also did some internal training to students of the Center to learn to use Energy Plus. Since 2011 I started to work with Revitaliza Consultores (www.revitalizaconsultores.com), a Mexican consultant company that focuses in the LEED Certification of Green Buildings in Mexico and Latin America. In 2013 I became the Director of the Energy Department of this company, and I have been directly responsible for the energy modeling for 6 certified projects (4 LEED Gold and 2 LEED Platinum) and I am currently managing other 12 projects that require energy modeling. For all the projects I use Design Builder and Energy plus simulatin tools. As part of the mission of the company to spread the knowledge on how to build sustainable buildings I have given more than 6 courses on energy modeling (focused on the LEED Certification). I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics at National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and a European Master Degree in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in EUREC Agency. My experience with energy modeling, as you can see, its extensive, I have been using Energy Plus since my thesis project and is my every day tool. My international experience has also given me a lot of skills and a great ability to deal with people and communicate with clients. My background on physics has given me a great ability to approach and solve problems in the most efficient way.
