Special guest speaker Gerry Braun
an
industry veteran who most recently co-founded a regional solar electricity
retailer, served as Director of the California Renewable Energy Center at
UC Davis and founded IRESN , is the speaker for the
event.

Gerry shall be speaking on the Local Renewable Energy Transition
Strategies. California is going through challenges in energy resilience and
providing energy security to all, especially economically insecure
neighborhoods. Expansion of local renewable supply is key to more timely,
just, and safe state and national renewable energy transitions. US cities
and counties should encourage private investment in local solar energy
production because it enables faster local decarbonization and energy
resilience - also because it strengthens local economies in many ways.
