Try "cloud computing" for EnergyPlus with JESS

1 post / 0 new

Hi All,

Sorry for cross-posting... We are starting the second round trial of jEPlus Simulation Server (JESS). The first round was open to jEPlus users and DesignBuilder competition participants only. This time it is open to everyone who is willing to have a taste of "cloud computing". You can send jEPlus projects or plain EnergyPlus simulation jobs to the DMU cluster, and then sit back waiting for results to come back. This page explains how it works: http://www.iesd.dmu.ac.uk/~jeplus/wiki/doku.php?id=docs:jess_service

All you need to do is following a few simple steps:

1. Log on to jEPlus website, register a new account if you are not yet a user, and download the JESS Client (with EP-Launch Support) package

2. Send an email to jeplus.services at gmail.com, and ask for a JESS account. Please indicate in the email the type of jobs you intend to run

3. Depending on your simulation jobs, separate instructions on how to use the Client are provided on the website

Since the number of accounts we can offer is limited, they will be provided on first come first served basis. If the demand is high, it may take a couple of days before we get back to you. This is a free trial, i.e. we are not charging you anything for using this facility. However, running E+ simulations remotely can cause high data traffic, so be careful if your internet connection is not unlimited. The trial will run for at least 6 weeks starting today.

Best regards,

Dr Yi Zhang
