Ecotect's Thermal Model is very simplified and has some validation issues. I frequently use Ecotect for solar analysis and shading calculations, but I find Energy Plus or TAS are much more suitable for thermal calculations. Unfortunately, I've yet to hear of anyone successfully using Ecotect for thermal calculations.
