Karpman Consulting has the following opening for a Senior Energy Engineer:

*SENIOR ENERGY ENGINEER*

*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*

*Lead building energy modeling projects using eQUEST or similar tools*

Senior Energy Engineers will be expected to complete projects independently
as well as manage and review work done by other team members, complete
technically demanding tasks, validate results, perform quality control, and
present the results to clients including building owners and design teams.
Projects will include the following tasks, depending on the project:

- Model a building in the conceptual, schematic, and design development
stages to inform design decisions and HVAC system type selection
- Compliance modeling following 90.1 Appendix G for LEED certification,
performance-based code compliance, or incentive program participation
- Modeling in support of an energy audit, including model to bill
calibration and calculation of savings from energy conservation measures

*Develop and deliver technical training*

Responsibilities will include developing and delivering eQUEST, ASHRAE
Standard 90.1, and similar technical trainings both in-person and via
webinar. Travel will primarily include locations in the Northeast, and is
expected to be 10% or less.

*Policy development and technical support for modeling-based incentive
programs *

Responsibilities will include development of energy modeling guidelines,
reporting templates, submittal review process, and performing submittal
reviews

*Education/Experience*

- Minimum 5 years of experience in energy modeling and energy consulting
- Advanced energy modeling skills (eQUEST or similar tool)
- Advanced knowledge of ASHRAE Standard 90.1
- In-depth knowledge of building systems
- Expert skills in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Coding and software development skills a plus
- Expertise in energy auditing or commissioning a plus
- Degree in engineering or related field
- Certificates and Licenses: BEMP, PE, CEM, or LEED AP a plus but not
required
