Seeking Benchmark Data Sources

We are working on updating the appendix in Standard 209
related to benchmark information. This is what I have
compiled so far. I know that I am missing a lot of sources
especially those related to local or regional building
performance standards and international data sources.

If you have any further ideas please let me know.

Thanks,

Jason

Jason, would the publicly-available benchmarking data from DC, MD and NYC belong in your list?

Absolutely! Can you send me the URLs? Do you know of any others?

Thanks

Hi Jason, I imagine that any jurisdictions with ?Benchmarking and Disclosure Laws? will have these available. For example, Chicago and St Louis. I can send URLs tomorrow.

Smita

Hello Jason.

Does Std 205 have a process of curating these potential entries? For example, age of the facility, climate zone, usage schedule, etc

Jeff

At this point, I think we are just going to try to provide
this information as a resource without any further analysis.
We do want to identify if is is applicable to only a
specific region.

Hi Jason, below are the benchmarking data URLS for DC, NYC and Montgomery County in Maryland. Hope that helps. IMT (the non-profit org) would be a good resource to check the list of all jurisdictions with benchmarking+ disclosure laws.

DC: Building Energy Benchmarking https://opendata.dc.gov/datasets/DCGIS::building-energy-benchmarking/explore

Montgomery: https://mcgov-gis.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=1db6b7414c7f49a58553d31374ebfa84

NYC: https://www.nyc.gov/assets/buildings/pdf/ll33_Data_Disclosure_2021-CBL.pdf

There are a number of jurisdictions with mandatory energy benchmarking requirements on the West coast as well.

Seattle, WA: Energy Benchmarking - Environment | seattle.gov
Portland, OR: Commercial Building Energy Reporting | Portland.gov
Lots of jurisdictions in California, hopefully someone doing a lot of CA work can chime in.

IMT is working in this space and they have a web page that shows probably
most, if not all, of the benchmarking programs in the US

These days, jurisdictions are looking past benchmarking to Building
