Random Tip-of-the-Day: EQUIP-RAD-FRAC

1 post / 0 new

You can designate the radiative/convective split of the heat gains from lighting using the LIGHT-RAD-FRAC keyword, the value for which can be accessed via the Space -> Lighting tab.
While there are (currently) no such input options for heat gains from Equipment and Internal Energy Sources, the keywords exist in DOE-2.2 and can be used in the input files for your eQUEST models.
For example, you can satisfy the requirement in PNNL's PRM Reference Manual for a default 20%/80% radiative/convective split for receptacle loads by adding this expression to the "SET-DEFAULT FOR SPACE" section of your input file:

EQUIP-RAD-FRAC = (
{if (#L("FLOOR-WEIGHT") > 0. .or. #RV(#L("EQUIP-SCHEDULE",0)) !=0)
then unused
else 0.20 /* Per PNNL-25130 90.1-2010 PRM Reference Manual */
endif} )

The SOURCE-RAD-FRAC keyword is also available, for describing the heat gains from Internal Energy Sources.

Cheers,
~Bill
