About this event

SimClub is excited to have Victoria Herrero-Garcia present about Embodied
Carbon, Whole Building Life Cycle Assessment (WBLCA), and answer important
questions such as:

- What is embodied carbon and how to reduce it in the built world?
- How does embodied carbon relate to energy?
- What tools are available to quantify embodied carbon in buildings?

This will be a hybrid event with a remote presenter and optional in-person
participation.

*Presenter:*

Victoria Herrero-Garcia
,
is a Senior Sustainability and Carbon Project Manager at Ambient Energy, a
Mead & Hunt Company in Denver, CO. She enjoys initiating embodied carbon
conversations with design teams early in design and helps develop
sustainability strategies to achieve carbon reductions. Victoria is the
co-chair of the Carbon Leadership Forum (CLF) Rocky Mountain Hub and she
also volunteers with the CLF organizing webinars and the bimonthly Global
Happy Hour. In September of 2020, she was featured as the carbon expert of
the month for One Click LCA, a tool to complete whole-building life-cycle
analysis. Victoria authored an article for the Technology|Architecture +
Design (TAD) magazine called Whole-Building Life Cycle Assessment:
Comparison of Available Tools. Victoria holds a bachelor?s degree in
Architectural Building Engineering from La Laguna University in the Canary
Islands, Spain; and a Master of Science in Sustainable Design from
Philadelphia University, now Thomas Jefferson University.
