Introducing CpSimulator. A cloud-based platform to predict Cp data on buildings

1 post / 0 new

Dear Colleagues,

As you know, wind pressure coefficients (Cp) are essential data for airflow
modeling in buildings. Moreover, these data are difficult to get for actual
building design applications, i.e. general building shapes and/or complex
surrounding conditions, such as an urban environment.

For those case studies, which are most of the real projects, we need to use
a primary data source. This can be a wind tunnel experiment or a dedicated
study using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations. These are
general and reliable Cp data sources; however, they require personnel of
advanced expertise as well as access to a proper experimental
infrastructure or high-performance computational resources.

To address these limitations, we are developing a cloud-based platform to
predict wind pressure coefficients on buildings, the so-called *CpSimulator
*. This platform comprises a set of
computational tools to perform automatic CFD simulations of the atmospheric
boundary layer and get reliable Cp data on buildings.

With this email, we would like to invite you to employ CpSimulator for your
research and/or professional projects. You can request your Cp data at the
platform's *web-based interface
*. We will also highly
appreciate your comments to improve the CpSimulator tools.

The user manuals are under development, but the usage of the platform is
straightforward. A description of the capabilities, the computational
tools, and the validations of the platform can be found in the following
article: *https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s12273-021-0881-9
*. Moreover,
inputs and outputs are compatible with the EnergyPlus input data files
(IDF) that highly facilitate requests.

We are also developing new capabilities and numerical tools to extend the
application spectrum of CpSimulator. We hope to have news about them soon.
Of course, all your ideas are also welcome!

Therefore, please do not hesitate to test CpSimulator or *enquire
* with us about any doubts you may have.

Best regards,
