Weather conditions are primary drivers of building thermal, lighting, and
energy performance. Outdoor dry-bulb temperature, solar radiation,
humidity, and wind all have significant impact on building behavior. This
webinar will describe the weather data requirements of building performance
simulation (BPS) applications, how those data are represented, and
available data sources. The commonly-used typical year approach will be
described. On-going development of remote-sensing (satellite) observations
and climate modeling methods are improving data availability and quality.
Trends introduced by urbanization and climate change will addressed
*Session 4: People In Building Performance Simulation by Ardeshir Mahdavi

This session addresses various aspects of people?s presence and behaviour
in buildings and their implications for buildings performance.
Specifically, it discusses the related modelling approaches and their
utility in simulation environments for performance-based building design
and operation support.
About IBPSA: International Building Performance Simulation Association, is
a non-profit international society of building performance simulation
researchers, developers and practitioners, dedicated to improving the built
environment.
The IBPSA published its first book, ?Building Performance Simulation for
Design and Operation? with contributions from 21 expert co-authors
throughout the world. This 536 page book provides a unique and
comprehensive overview of Building Performance Simulation for the complete
building life cycle from conception to demolition. Based on this book,
IBPSA have organised a series of online webinars. Chapter authors have
graciously agreed to offer 30 min webinar followed by Q & A session. Each
webinar is focused on one chapter of book.
All webinars are free.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing
information about joining the webinar.
