Location: Ottawa, Vancouver or remotely within Canada
The Energy Simulation Specialist serves as the energy simulation technical expert for the evaluation of projects pursuing LEED certification. Specialists draw on cross-cutting knowledge and direct experience with the LEED rating systems to serve as qualified assessors, technical resources and problem-solvers; and work on the leading edge of sustainable building design and research.
Key Responsibilities:
? In-depth technical review of project documentation (including calculations and construction drawings) for compliance with LEED requirements and standards
? Quality control (QC) review of work done by LEED review teams and colleagues
? Communicating technical advice to project teams and the marketplace
? Provide technical subject matter expertise in energy modelling related to the LEED rating systems and Zero Carbon Building program
? Provide technical advice in development and research opportunities
You are:
? An experienced energy modeler with at least 5 years' experience with LEED certification
? Post-secondary education in mechanical, electrical, building systems or sustainability, and LEED AP credential
? Committed and passionate about green building as a solution to climate change
? A person who thrives on quality and detail in reading specifications and drawings
? A subject matter expert in the field of energy modelling and Energy/HVAC
? Professional designation is an asset (CET, P. Eng., BEMP, etc.)
