Explanation of "Detailed Manufacturing"

Dear Bldg-Sim List,

Does anybody have experience using the "Detailed Manufacturing" lighting power density of 2.1 W/SF from ASHRAE 90.1 Table 9.6.1?

Any literature that describes the meaning of Detailed Manufacturing and scenarios/conditions where this space type is applicable, would be appreciated too.
