Just try to figure this out.
As you would be knowing Q= U* A * delta T
Also this can be tasted as Q= (1/R) * A * delta T
So by considering these two formulas one can get the following results.I
have taken some assumptions.

I think that these basic formulas rules simulation soft wares.
I have done these kind of analyses and i used to get very straight
proportional lines for the charts of energy consumption and U values so
,may be these are the formulas that rules eQUEST also.
Hence Dan can be also right from my point of view.
As of now i am considering these basic formulas and from my experience on
two projects energy consumption is directly proportional to U values. For
more help you can have a try on other advises given to you in this forum.
