[Equest-users] Opening for Advanced eQuest Engineer, Southern California

1 post / 0 new

Hello,

I am a Senior Engineer with Willdan Energy Solutions and we work on behalf
of a number of California Utility Companies such as Southern California
Edison, San Diego Gas & Electric and Pacific Gas & Electric. We work with
their clients to identify energy efficiency opportunities in a number of
building segments such as Lodging/Hotels, Hospitals, Data Centers and Labs.

We perform detailed energy audits and utilize energy models & spreadsheets
to quantify energy savings and our models and calculations undergo close
scrutiny.

We are currently looking to hire a well qualified Mechanical Engineer who is
an advanced eQuest user. This position is to serve our Southern California,
Monrovia office. The candidate would work with the teams which include a
number of Junior Engineers, Project Engineers and Senior Engineers.

We are looking for a candidate who is capable of getting into the details
and understands the intricacies of eQuest. As an example of modeling tasks,
I would include:

1. Create building envelope from architectural drawings

2. Include zoning in the model, based on mechanical layouts

3. Model detailed mechanical systems such as chilled water systems,
variable air volume systems, water and air-side side economizers, chilled
water supply temperature resets, etc.

4. Utilize the EEM Wizard to run measures in Design Development Wizard

5. Utilize the Parametric Run tool to perform detailed & sequential
EEM runs

6. Model chillers using custom curves

7. Utilize text files to provide inputs for reset schedules etc.

8. Adjust schedules to reflect detailed building operation

The ideal candidate would have a good knowledge of mechanical systems to be
able to work with Engineers to convert field information to detailed models.
A four year mechanical engineering degree is preferred as is a Professional
Engineering license and certifications such as Certified Energy Manager,
LEED Accredited Professional etc.

Compensation is excellent and there is significant room for growth at
Willdan Energy Solutions.

The Senior Engineers have extensive experience with eQuest and I personally
have been using eQuest/EnergyPro/DOE-2 since the mid 1990?s. I am very
knowledgeable and would support our Energy Modeler closely. I understand the
need to have modeling work not happening in a vacuum. Many of the other
engineers can use eQuest and have a good level of competence, but we are
seeking a Pro.

Our preference is for you to have a presence in our office. However, we are
open to a candidate working remotely, but that would be on a case by case
basis.

Willdan Energy Solutions is a stable company. We have long term contracts
with multiple utilities and are recognized leaders in our field.

Contact me at my email below or you can respond to this post.

Thank you.
