The RMI Built Environment Team is one of the world's leading proponents of
green development; a fast-growing field in which the pursuit of
environmental excellence produces fundamentally better buildings and
communities?more comfortable, more efficient, more appealing, and ultimately
more profitable. Our consultants work directly with developers, architects,
and other real-estate professionals to integrate resource-efficient and
environmentally responsive design into specific projects. The team juggles
dozens of assignments, ranging from large scale, mixed-use developments to
educational outreach videos and publications to assisting the Clinton
Climate Foundation on the policy front.
Complementing these consulting activities, our staff also compiles case
studies and researches new policies, technologies, and techniques for
improving the performance of buildings. Team members lecture widely, conduct
seminars on green development, and author both popular and specialized
publications. RMI's Built Environment Team is a think-and-do tank, and we
use our consulting work to identify barriers to the widespread adoption of
sustainable practices. Identifying these barriers focuses and drives our
research efforts to be most effective.
The Built Environment Team (BET) is seeking a 6 month technical consultant
(with the possibility to become full time) and 6 month technical fellow to
join the team. Both positions would involve energy modeling and analysis for
innovative new buildings and existing building retrofits, and also a
research component as well. These positions are located in Boulder, CO and
are available immediately.
