A growing Energy, Engineering and Environmental Services company with over
215 employees seeks an Energy Engineer for our Knoxville, Tennessee office.
The primary objective of this position is to perform energy audit
investigations and to prepare written reports to meet contract requirements.
The selected candidate for this position will participate in the
investigation, analysis and documentation of energy conservation measures.
Job responsibilities include: field visits to assist with energy audit
surveys, which will include the collection of detailed information (e.g.
utility data, equipment and building data, operational characteristics,
temperature, flow and pressure measurements, etc.); technical research;
identification and evaluation of energy efficiency measures; calculation of
potential energy savings and energy audit report preparation.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
. A Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering
preferred) and at least 1 year of direct experience in energy
auditing/management and/or HVAC design (Note: Recent graduates with strong
academic records and a demonstrated interest in the energy field OR
Engineering Technology Associates degree holders with applicable experience
will be considered);
. Knowledge of building systems, HVAC, energy efficiency technologies,
alternative energy technologies; green building and high performance design;
-AP certification, CEM and/or LEED preferred
. Field experience pertaining to HVAC, lighting and/or industrial plant
equipment and a high level of interest in improving energy efficiency;
. Good analytical, communication and technical report writing skills;
. Proficiency in standard office computer software (Excel and Word);
. Experience with Building Energy Analysis software (DOE 2 or eQUEST
preferred);
. Ability to obtain and hold a security clearance (existing DOE or DOD
clearance preferred);
. Availability for frequent travel (approximately 12 weeks per year) to
conduct site visits to verify installation and operation of energy consuming
equipment;
Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. and be able to pass a drug
test.
