1 post / 0 new

Newly formed IBPSA-USA Denver chapter is hosting meetings once a month
on a variety of simulation topics. It has had a successful run so far with
many interesting presentations, tours and happy hours since its inception.
This year started with an action-packed presentation by Joel Neymark on
ASHRAE Standard 140 followed by Sukreet Singh & Amir Rezaei-Bazkiaei on
High Performance Building Analysis. Moving forward, it has planned
presentations on topics such as passivHauz, cloud daylighting tools, 179D
tax deduction modeling, ASHRAE 90.1 2016 preview and many other interesting
topics.

On behalf of the IBPSA-USA Denver chapter, I?d like to invite you to our
first event that we are broadcasting via Go-To-Meeting. This will enable
folks from outside Colorado to join us. If you are Colorado based and don?t
get regular in-person meeting invites for our meetings, please send an
email to Sukreet Singh (ssingh at cuningham.com) and we will add you to our
mailing list.

*Topic: Introduction to Commercial Passive House*

Passive House is the strictest energy efficiency standard in the world. It
is a performance standard with rigorous and verifiable thresholds which
have been met by many building typologies in every climate. The standard is
also based on a comfort and health criteria to provide a holistic
experience for occupants. While being very strict, once mastered Passive
House is surprisingly flexible, providing designers multiple compliance
paths and immediate performance feedback, backed up by a fast growing and
evolving supply market and professional community. In this presentation
Enrico and Andrew will cover the Passive House standard with an emphasis on
commercial buildings, citing design considerations and examples. More Info
