A heads-up for all of you who have been using and referencing the Contrasting the
Capabilities of Simulation Tools from ~10 years ago by myself and Dru Crawley. ~30000
views and 800+ citations so clearly there is a need for updating the beastie so that folk
can continue explore what is similar and different in tools.
Dru and I are currently working on the next definitive comparison tool and reference document.
Our goal is to allow folk to drill down to a considerable level of depth into tool
facilities/capabilities/methods/data models and include many more reality checks on
vendors claims and documentation.
We want to ensure that it has a good chance of evolving as tools evolve. This is taking
a bit longer than we had planned, however we hope to publish this and get an interactive
comparison tool hosted via IBPSA or another neutral body. So look out for hints on progress.
We might be asking for practitioner observations as well as definitions & test models
from vendors and a critical eye from other IBPSA fellows.
