Collecting Weather for Model Calibration

1 post / 0 new

I am about to put together a weather station to collect site specific
weather data to compare modeled vs. measured performance of a house
museum which relies on natural ventilation during cooling season and a
radiant floor for heating. I've found a couple of papers on weather
input required for epw and tmy formats ( the modeling will be done in
Energy Plus and eQuest), including this
http://apps1.eere.energy.gov/buildings/energyplus/pdfs/weatherdatainform
ation.pdf and a paper from Texas A&M,
http://repository.tamu.edu/bitstream/handle/1969.1/94836/ESL-TR-95-12-03
.pdf?sequence=1 which cover the data sets read by the weather file.

I was planning on installing monitors for temp (DB), humidity, wind
speed and direction and global horizontal solar radiation. Is this
sufficient to get a useable set of weather data for model calibration
and what resources are available to assist in transferring the collected
data into weather file format?

Also, If anyone wants to go in on a weather station in the north Georgia
mountains let me know.

Thanks in advance.
