PNNL prototypes - sketch up files

Hi -
Does anyone have a sketchup model or know where they are for the ASHRAE 90.1-2013 medium office prototype? I looked on the PNNL site, but they just have the IDF files (which not being savvy, I can open in...???).
Thanks

If you only want to see the geometry, you can just open them Using the openstudio sketchup plugin.

Otherwise, there's the openstudio-standards project (on GitHub) which uses measures to the generate the commercial prototypes on the fly as openstudio projects (you'll be able to further modify the HVAC, schedules etc in the openstudio application)

Hi Leonard,

If you have IDF files, the "native" application is the IDF editor, which is part of the standard energy plus distribution on GitHub. Another part of this distribution is the eplaunch program, which will also generate a DXF file.

Another way is to open the IDF files in a text editor like Notepad++ or Sublime. But then you can only read them like, well, text!

Hope that helps,

Parag

The Legacy OpenStudio Plug-in will open idf files in SketchUp.
https://www.openstudio.net/downloads
This allows you to view and edit the EnergyPlus geometry, but it does
not create an equivalent skp file.
