Dear All,
ASHRAE 90.1 Appendix G allows a reduction of 10% in lighting power loads
when there is an occupancy sensor in the space.
We are not comfortable with applying this in a residential setting where
common corridors are fitted with occupancy sensors. Since these
corridors are utilized much less frequently than say an office corridor,
we think that the reduction should be a lot higher compared to lights
staying on during the whole day.
Does anyone have experience with such a case? Maybe we will use the
schedule adjustment approach here. Anyone can suggest a suitable schedule?
Thank you,
Omer Moltay, LEED AP BD+C, ASHRAE BEMP
