Hi all,
I am working on a project in Toronto, Canada and the cooling energy end use
as shown in the Report-BEPS in the DOE file is negative! Did anyone
experience this before or have an explanation to this behavior?
I appreciate any assistance.
Regards,
Ahmed Azhari, B.Eng., LEED AP
When I was experimenting with custom chiller curves, one of my experiments produced negative energy. If you have custom curves, you may want check them.

Thanks Jeremy. I am in fact using the default chiller curves.

Hi Ahmed,
I've never heard of negative energy results being reported in the BEPS/BEPU
reports. I don't doubt it instance, but there must be an incorrect input
that is causing this.
It would help us to help you if you would share your .pd2 & .inp file (and
your weather file if it is non-standard.) and we can look through your file
to help you.
Regards,
Pasha
Hi Ahmed,
I've seen this when either the chiller is dramatically undersized for
the load or more likely the cooling tower is dramatically undersized --
also check your loop capacities and flows.
If none of that works I can take a quick look if you send me your .pd2
and .inp.
