Dear eQuest Users,
Our client wants to add a vertical geothermal heat exchanger to a
facility that presently uses a conventional WSHP-Tower-Boiler. We are
required to produce a LCCA. I would like to perform this analysis using
eQuest. I have seen some talk of these systems in the archives but
nothing explicit. Can this system be modeled using eQuest? Meaning can
eQuest model the insertion of a heat exchanger from a cooling tower tied
into the geo loop?
With a little help from my friends, could a beginning eQuest user
complete this task? We have a pretty good fee and I would like to use
this project to enhance my eQuest capabilities. I have been to one of
Marlin's seminars.
Thanks
Robert Vogt
You can model fluid cooler's with ground loops but not boilers
unfortunately. There's a good example in the help file entitled,
"Ground-Loop Heat-Exchangers and Fluid Coolers in parallel on WLHP loops"
If you're comfortable doing basic text editing to the input file it's pretty
easy.
