Hello,
I am trying to model a MURB with distributed heat pumps and a gas fired
make-up air unit. The heat pump loop is attached to a ground field heat
exchanger and a supplementary boiler. I am getting very strange results:
the model is showing negative savings. Upon closer inspection, it seems like
the reference building does not have any heating created. I have followed
the instruction in the EE4 modelling guide...am I missing something?

Hello Olenksandra,
I also once got the same problem of getting negative savings. At that point
I spoke to someone and he told me that probably I changed one default value
which should be kept as is according to MNECB guidelines, such as schedule,
room set temperature etc. However, I am not too sure about it. I hope
someone else can give a better answer to your question.

Hassan Quazi
Thank you for all your help. It seems to be that the issue can be solved by
changing the room type from multi-residential to dorm-bedroom. This results
in a proper reference building with heating. I think this strategy is valid
under the EE4 modeling guidelines as this is the suggested way to take
credit for any hardwired efficient lighting in the suites. Of course some of
the defaults and schedules have to be reset to reflect the actual space
use...
