E-Quest certification for California Title-24

I have heard that E-Quest will NOT be approved for use by the California
Energy Commission to show compliance with the new upcoming California
Title-24 requirements until much later. Does this mean that everyone
using E-Quest now will be forced to buy Energy-Pro to do Title-24
compliance work?

To the list:

James J Hirsch and Associates will be submitting a version of eQUEST to
the California Energy Commission for approval as a Title 24
Nonresidential ACM by the end of July. Our experience in the past is
that CEC approval takes about 90 days. The JJH team regrets that eQUEST
will most likely not be approved until several weeks after the 2008
Title 24 standards take effect, and we apologize to the energy analysis
community for the inconvenience.
