Dear All,

There is a project I am working on which has 13 buildings. The eQuest model
was made and results were obtained. However, I now wish to change the
location of one building out of these thirteen within the model including
its orientation; though the design of the building shall remain the same.
Looking forward to know if such a possibility exists? If yes, how should it
be approached?

Many Thanks

To rotate any building in the model, simply click on your component tree and
click on "Building Data". Here you can change the Azimuth of the building,
which will rotate everything in it by the number of degrees that you enter.

The weather change requires more work. First you need to have the weather
file you want to use downloaded already. To check go to My Documents -
eQuest 3.64 Data - Weather - and then look in the next few folders for the
city that you want. If you cannot find it, a simple way of getting it is
starting a new equest model and in the wizard locate the city you want. No
need to change anything else in the wizard, run the model results and let
the program find the file for you. Go back to the Weater folder and write
down the location of the file and its name, ie mine is for Rochester NY, so
TMY2/ROCHESNY.bin

Next in your working model, go to the component tree, double click on the
"Project: xxxx" and on the first tab and change the weater file name to what
you wrote down before. it will come up with a screen that says something
changed. Just select no and be on your merry way!

Hope this helps!

Kushagra, to expand on Rob's advice:

I read the situation a little differently and may be mistaken, but if
you have a single model with 13 distinct buildings (shells or groups of
shells) within, and you need to rotate/move only one of them, then
adjusting the 'Building Data' azimuth will rotate all the buildings at
once (this really toggles which way is North for the project)...

You can find similar inputs (azimuth/xyz) for any given shell in the
same component tree by double-clicking the shell nested below the
'Building Data' line. If you click the '3-D Geometry' tab first and
strategically move the shell properties window to one side, you can
observe your edits in real time as you make adjustments to be sure
you're getting the desired effect.

Best of luck!

Hi Rob,

Many Thanks for your response.

The method suggested would rotate the entire project, however, I wish to
rotate and change coordinates of only one building out of the 13 buildings
in the same model. The remaining 12 continue to exist with the same
orientation as well as location in the model. Looking forward to some help.

to rotate just one of the buildings, use Nick's advice and click on the
building shell that you want to rotate and change its azimuth.
