Water-to-water heat pumps

1 post / 0 new

Hi,

I have a triple loop (see attached JPEG file). The primary PLW and the secondary HPL are heat pump loops. The HPL acts as a condenser water loop for water-to-water heat pumps (designated RCHs).

The RCHS provide chilled/hot water to air-handling units. The AHUs are provided with energy recovery.

Here is what I think as an approach, and I wait for your input please:

- Model the heat pump loops (PLW/HPL) as a lake/well loop (temperatures will be adjusted at a later stage, as suggested earlier in this forum).
- Model the chillers as a "Heat pump" type (probably need to adjust the part-load curves
- Model the AHUs as PVVT (or similar) with heating-source = heat pump and condenser = water-cooled to get access to the energy recovery feature; and then set the EIRs to 0.0.

Any suggestions?
