Sim file questions

So I have a couple of questions regarding the images here:
SIM File
[cid:image001.png at 01D08BD9.8F5AA1B0]
INP File
[cid:image002.png at 01D08BDA.140270A0]

1. I notice that sometimes in my SIM file (version 3.65) I am missing the titles in the BEPS, BEPU and some other reports for end use breakdowns (area highlighted in yellow)

2. Also - Area highlighted in cyan - I want to know how I can change the title of the sim file PARAMETRICALLY. I am aware of how to do it in the inp file (highlighted above), but I am running a bunch of parametric simulations and would love to know how to do this as a parametric command. I'm hoping this is possible.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Vikram:
Maybe an old guy can finally help someone in this forum faster than the young guys.
You can certainly change the TITLE in a Parametric run. Go to Component Type TITLE. Categories Titles, then choose Title #1 thru #5. I THINK the order it goes on the .SIM title is:
Title#1 ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?Title#2Title#3 ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?Title#4Title#5
but play with it and check me on that.
I do it all the time. ?I am typing fast to beat the "Fastest eQuester in the West", Nick Caton. I can't THINK as fast as him anymore !!
Anyway, see if this solves your need.

I can answer the 2nd question:

Select the parametric component "Titles", select the keyword e.g. LINE-3 and
enter the value *ASHRAE 90.1 Ref Run*

It is important to put the title between asterisks.

As to the 1st question, I have not noticed that before.

As I have done in Para metrics. I don't think I eve had to use quotation marks. Only if I did it in the .INP file. I use this to generate the 90, 180, and 270 Degree runs for LEED, and i don't believe i used quotations.
But tell us your experience, Vikram.

It worked without the asterisks in the eQUEST interface. I think you need to use the asterisks when you are working directly in the inp file

FYI:

The " - - - "s in DOE-2 files were put there so one could count the space numbers on a 132 character line printer. These are less than useful when looking at the file electronically.

First: Jeff, I would have never guessed that in a million years! I
thought whoever designed the format had a very sleek aesthetic going on?

So Second: I think Vik is actually wondering where the column headers have
gone to? Here?s a report from a 3.64 dummy model:

This is just a shot in the dark, but have you tried opening the same SIM
file using the 3.64 SIM viewer or a text editor? That might establish
whether there?s just something bonkers with the 3.65 SIM viewer in your
case. You can find (and create a shortcut to) the SIM viewers
(D2SimViewer.exe) in the same installation directory as your eQuest
executable.

I have tried that and it works. What?s screwy is that the titles also appear in the 3.65 viewer ? just not all the time. For instance I just ran a set of sims and they have mysteriously reappeared.

Strange.
