Receptacle loads

Hey all,

I've created my proposed model, did a "save as" and created my baseline model, and changed all of the HVAC systems etc. to the required 90.1 standards. I ran the simulations and exported the LEED report and noticed my receptacle loads aren't the same-the baseline is 12% higher than the proposed. I've compared schedules, equipment loads, and square footages, and they are identical in both the proposed and baseline models. Is there something else I should be looking at?

Compare-it! or other "file diff" programs might be useful to show any differences between the two *.inp files.

Also make sure you are looking at the energy usage results and not demand - the demand profile in the graphical outputs is shown at the coincident peak for the whole building. If other strategies cause the peak demand hour to shift later in the day for the proposed case, the values for receptacles at that time may be different, particularly if the baseline peak hour is during the main occupancy period and the proposed building shifts into the late afternoon or evening.

Do you have additional loads on an electric meter that are being added
to your equipment loads?

I have very recently stumbled some unintuitive issues with the "LEED export" CSV feature that have left me wary of referencing this for LEED template entry. Pay very close attention to what this report reads vs. your PS-E / PS-B meter reports for any unintuitive discrepencies, especially if you are doing any "user defined" metering, submetering, or loads direct to meters.

FWIW: I presently prefer to print out those SIM reports for documenting my enduses. I also now like to upload these reports over the graphical charts or 'LEED export' reports as well as it can avoid questions stemming from separately metered stuff not matching the uploaded output.

Another thought : if you have any process loads on hydronic loops (if in play) that is something I've found to easily fall out of sync in the course of creating/redefining baseline systems as I personally like to build up new loops, reassign, and delete the old as a typical order of operations.

For any of the possibilities brought up so far - consider whether you might have messed with any of the associated scheduling as well.
