Query regarding modelling of secondary air stream in two stage evaporative cooler

Dear All

I am working on modelling of a two stage evaporative cooling system on
EnergyPlus. Supply side air loop consists of an Indirect Evaporative Cooler
Research Special and Direct Evaporative Cooler Research Special. I am
trying to *recirculate some percentage of secondary air stream (exhaust
from the indirect heat exchanger) inside the zone* and throw out the
remaining to ambient. Energy Plus considers secondary air outlet stream as
a part of non-parent loop and so it is not running. It will be really
great if anybody can guide me on how modelling of secondary air stream can
be done on EnergyPlus or any other software?

Thanks

Dear Priyar,
Please include a sketch which explains what you want to do. At the moment,
it's not clear to me.

Dear Jim

The two-stage evaporative cooler consists of an indirect heat exchanger and
direct evaporative cooler. The first stage usually employs indirect contact
cooling of primary air stream using another air stream called secondary air
stream. For my research work I am considering a wet-coil indirect
evaporative cooler. Below is the diagram of secondary and primary air
streams used in an indirect evaporative cooler.

I wish to *recirculate the secondary air stream (in proportion) to the
zone *which is generally exhausted to atmosphere. Please find attached the
block diagram of what I intend to do.
Hope the block diagram clearly explains the problem. It will be great if
anyone can guide me through.

Thanks

You could model this system in IESVE by making a small modification to the prototype indirect/direct evaporative cooling system.
