Parking Garage Controls

Hi everyone.

I am trying to model parking garage controls required by ASHRAE 90.1 2010
Section 9.4.1.3. What would be the best approach to model these controls?
Is there a published study that suggests a certain power reduction or
schedules when using these controls?

Thank you,

Not sure what your project type is, but for multifamily residential applications, the Energy Star Multifamily High Rise Simulation Guidelines give some rules for garage exhaust modeling per 90.1 2016. See section 6.6.2 of this document:

Ha, whoops, obviously I skipped over the ASHRAE section that Saif referenced that made it obvious he was talking lighting controls. For what its worth, the ESMFHRSG I linked to previously also has guidance on appropriate lighting power reductions to represent occ sensors, etc. However, as pointed out previously, that guide is written for multifamily projects so the guidance probably isn?t appropriate for office.

Saif,
Appendix G dictates the adjustments for lighting controls. Can either be through power reduction or schedule modification.

Jackson,

I overlooked this section because for some reason I thought it does not apply to parking garages, but after reading it again it seems it could be used for the controls in section 9.4.1. Appreciate the help that answered my question.
